Making Scouting as Safe as Possible

Is Scouting Safe?

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) has one of the best youth protection programs going today. The two basic rules are:
1) Two Deep Leadership: two registered adults present at all Scouting events at all times and
2) No one-on-one experience between youth and adult is allowed.
BSA National performs background checks on all registered leaders. Registered leaders submit three personal references with their adult application. Teasing, bullying, and put downs of anyone in Scouting or not is not tolerated. Respect for all is a cornerstone of Scouting and Pack 566.
Starting in 2022 the State of California requires any volunteer in the state to take a 2 hour training, get fingerprinted, and pass an FBI background check.

Pack 566's goal is for EVERY PACK PARENT to take BSA Youth Protection Training. This is an EASY, ON-LINE training that takes less than 76 minutes.

To take Youth Protection Training you need to set up an My.Scouting account. Keep the credentials in a handy/safe locaiton. What do you need to set up an account? Just your name, email, and phone number.
